Nicole Barré appeared early on into the run of the New Orleans-based spin-off of "NCIS," playing a doctor named Melora Haley the series' second episode, titled "Carrier." In it, Special Agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) of "NCIS" fame leads an investigation into the death of a naval officer, which it turns out was caused by the bubonic plague. Doctor Melora Haley is one of the medical experts weighing in on the investigation.
Though Barré only played the part in a single episode of "NCIS: New Orleans," her performance marks one among numerous roles in projects based in New Orleans. Barré also worked as an offscreen voice actor in six episodes of David Simon's New Orleans drama "Treme" and starred in a New Orleans-based short film titled "Le Pardon." According to her IMDb profile, not only was Barré born in the Big Easy, but she returned to her hometown in 2007 to focus on projects filmed in the area. Thus, her roles in "NCIS: New Orleans," "Treme," and "Le Pardon" all appear to be the result of her return home.
