Just missing out on the show's premiere, Princess Pony Head made her "Star vs. the Forces of Evil" introduction in the second episode of Season 1, "Party With a Pony," from 2015. "Parks and Recreation" alum Jenny Slate signed on to portray the character, sticking with it throughout the entirety of the program's run and securing 25 appearances to her credit. Seeing as it was the series finale, Season 4's "Cleaved" marked the end of Pony Head, but Slate's career hardly faltered. She has continued to add vocal roles to her extensive résumé, many of which are far from one-off gigs.
In the years following the 2019 cancelation of "Star vs. the Forces of Evil," Jenny Slate's voice has found its way to screens big and small on more than one occasion. She reprised the role of Gidget the Pomeranian in both "The Secret Life of Pets 2" and the short "Super Gidget" before jumping to "Elena of Avalor" for one installment as Cahu. Additionally, she continued her lengthy tenures on "Big Mouth," "Muppet Babies," and "Bob's Burgers" into the 2020s, piling "The Great White North" onto her plate as well. As far as the future goes, Slate is currently working on a 2023 film called "The Ark and the Aardvark," where she'll play Mitzy.
Jenny Slate brought a unique brand of energy to Princess Pony Head, and it's a shame we won't get to see more out of her or "Star vs. the Forces of Evil" as a whole. Thankfully, the actress continues to hone her voice acting skills, and it stands to reason we'll hear more from her in the coming years.
